Our beer garden treats your senses to a great panoramic view of Mount Owen and is a delightful setting for live bands and other entertainment to stage their talents. The pub's tranquil garden invites you to stroll along to a small easy-to-climb hill with a fantastic, almost aerial like, view of the surrounding area.
Our restaurant menu includes both authentic Chinese cuisine and deliciously prepared New Zealand fare. Our special recipe for Sweet and Sour Pork is just about everyone's favourite; the talk of the town. We serve up a mighty tasty New Zealand Lamb and Scotch Fillet Steak which are quite famous and receive plenty of great reviews, too. We have pies and snacks available, should you have a light appetite.
For your entertainment, Owen River Pub has Freeview TV and our wide screen is perfect for viewing rugby tournaments and other sport events. Also, for the game enthusiast there is a pool table and dartboard, and a jukebox to play songs for your listening pleasure. Every year (since 1997), we host a prestigious competition in pig and deer hunting. This annual event attracts a considerable sized sponsorship with a value of over $5,000 in committed prizes.
